Mr.
Mário Gazin, 16 years old at the time, worked in one of the many stores that suffered from the financial crisis that was ravaging the country.
Upon learning of the owners intention to sell the establishment, Mário immediately recognized a business opportunity.
His vision of the future was shared with his father Alfredo Gazin, who, without wasting time, handed over the familys jeep and part of the farm where they lived in exchange for the store.
Seeing opportunity where many only saw crisis, Mário started Gazins success story on December 13, 1966.This successful trajectory was only possible thanks to the companys general concept: “Always doing the best for you”.
Much more than a slogan, this philosophy is lived out daily by the more than 9000 employees of the Group.
